Well, Here you have shit like sky rail in which they position the first spring in the stage in a very dangerous place Remember how sonic 3 used to have very clever teaching elements for its new gimmicks in safe spots and then, after carefully teaching you correctly about how a gimmick would work, it proceed to make it an obstacle and put your skills to test? Its an artificial game that use very cheap tricks to bait the player and kill them for no reason.
What is in even worst is how artificial this game feels when it comes to difficulty. Loved the last sonic stage you ve played? Ok, go on to a slow paced on rails mecha level, i hope you have fun. The game also forces you to alternate between all of the three play styles, which is different from Adv 1 that let you choose the campaign you want to play as, in the start of the game and then you would play to your heart's content Not to mention stuff like moving the analog when using the rails, making you stop at it sometimes, which doesnt make ANY sense. Usually they will talk about the treasure hunting stages and how bad the radar is, but honestlyįrom the start, physics and mechanics feels so weird compared to adv 1, with not only a much less fluid movement, but shit like having to press the jump button 2 times after jumping from a spring in order to do stuff like glide with a mechaĪnd the button mapping have stuff like the B button which is the same button you will use for the spin dash being used for the lightspeed dash which are used when you are close to falling into a hole most of the times I have been seeing this game get praised by absolutely everyone, hailed as one of the best Sonic games ever made and i barely have seen people acknowledging some of its major flaws
